From a Briefcase to a Reporter’s Notebook

I grew up arguing. I argued with my mom, my dad and my brothers. I had an opinion on everything and I was always right.

One day, my cousin, Joe, told me I should be a lawyer. Afterall, I loved disagreeing with people. So, from that point forward, I was determined that I would become a lawyer.

My freshman year of high school, I took Law Education with the determination that I would go to Harvard University and become the best lawyer the United States had ever encountered. But, I was also taking another class that would have an even greater impact on my life than Law Education would.

I was taking Intro to Mass Media. Here I was introduced to the world of Journalism. I abandoned my goals of becoming a lawyer and embraced my future of deadlines, editing and videography. I had found my calling.
